The work emerged from a dynamic dialogue between ancient textile techniques, such as indigo dyeing, and materials considered unconventional in the textile field, like sea floaters or fishing ropes. For me, the warp serves as a foundation into which I integrate unexpected elements carrying new shades of color in my life – the blue gradually replacing the earthly tones of my previous works.
My practice focuses on the boundaries between tradition and innovation, between technique and intuition, between control and not knowing. I create by listening to the material, to the connections that form in the process, to the movements my hands know how to make, and to what they want to express when I let them speak.
This is a process of letting go of the need to produce a functional result, of the need to know in advance the nature of the final product. Weaving serves as an open space for me to explore form, structure, and aesthetics – a process still unfolding, whose future I long to discover.
